    Hi,

Technically, a bistro (the french word means bar) is a familiar name for a café serving moderately priced simple meals in an unpretentious setting, especially in Paris. A brasserie (the french word means brewery) is a restaurant usually serving a more hearty fare, and they also usually have a liquor and coffee bar.

    Hope that helps!
