Dobrek Bistro Bistro Furniture: What You Should Know Before Buying
Nov 302009

Should a church act extra friendly towards them or no different? At a few churches I’ve attended alone and felt almost like I was in the way at times (not sure if it’s in my mind or if it’s just truly an unwelcoming church).

Do you think these are unwelcoming a churches or are all churches like this?

Every church should be extra friendly to everyone i attend church alone and love my church for making me feel like im at home

Not all churches are like that. Keep trying until you find the right church building for you

At the kingdom hall of Jehovah’s witnesses you would be noticed and greeted right away. We know each member and we are very aware of new ones attending. I have been to other Church’s and they Ignore me for the most part but some have official greeters but that is as far as it goes at least where i have gone.

It varies widely. Since retiring 3 years ago, my wife and I have visited 16 churches. The receptions range from quite friendly to no contact at all. Just keep looking. You’ll find one that clicks with you.

Having been a “church hopper” at one time, I know exactly what you are talking about. I think most churches today (except the clannish ones that exist only for the few who attend faithfull for decades) want to make a good, welcoming impression on visitors. The problem is that the greeters are often ignorant of how different personality types accept their mode of welcoming.

Personally, I didn’t like it when I was greeted like a million-dollar prize winner, with all that. shouting, handshaking, hugging … waaaayy too much over the top. Get real!

But there is the other extreme. Two greeters are talking about yesterday’s ballgame, and barely make eye contact with me.

The best way to check out a church is to be invited by a friend or acquaintance.

This unwelcoming feeling? Sorry to say is prominent in most Churches? This is not the way for you to see CHRIST in others. If you are not greeted at the door? And asked to sit with the Greeter or another member of that Church?

Keep going, you will find the one where GOD is.

    GOD Bless YA,
